Joondalup Resort is proud to announce the addition of highly acclaimed Chef Stephen Clarke as a consultant to its signature restaurant, The Alcove. Clarke is best known for his incredible success at the former Clarke’s of North Beach and he now brings a wealth of experience and passion to the Joondalup Resort culinary scene.

Clarke’s signature approach has an intent focus on fresh West Australian produce and seasonal ingredients. Chef Stephen is a three time “Catering Institute of Australia” and two time “Restaurant and Catering Institute” Chef of the Year. He was named the 2012 “Good Food Guide” WA Chef of the Year. Stephen competed and won the 2012 Australian Culinary Federation National Chef of the Year and was awarded the prestigious West Australian Good food guide 2023 industry leadership award.
Stephen says “I am absolutely delighted to have my dishes showcased in The Alcove restaurant located in the most beautiful, prestigious and award-winning location which is Joondalup Resort. To be back in the northern suburbs feels fantastic and I’m looking forward to welcoming old friends and look forward meeting many new ones.”
Stephen is among only a few chefs in Australia to have been awarded International gold medals for both the starter and main course whilst he was a member of the Australian National Culinary team and was proud to be awarded a legend of our industry by The West Australian hotels association in 2019.
The Alcove dining experience comes complete with a poolside view that wouldn’t be out of place in a tropical oasis, it’s the perfect location for your celebration or special night out.
The Alcove at Joondalup Resort is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has introduced a new “Stephen Clarke inspired” menu for the winter months and will be hosting various events starting with a Mazza wine paired wine dinner being held on 27 July 2023.
